Fair Play: Hunt in packs for value for money

Friday 30th January 2009, 2:54PM GMT.

0129421_2_cropped.jpgTODAY Fair Play investigates the cost of basic clothing items for men, women and children.

We decided to survey items that most people need nowadays and found that there are some great multi-pack offers around town, which means that you can buy in bulk and get more for your money.

Trekking through town on a wet Monday morning was easier than the task of trying to compare the price of a man’s plain white cotton shirt or a pair of women’s black opaque tights.

A lot of items such as knickers, briefs, tights and even white shirts are now sold in multi-packs to offer consumers better value.

The task was even more difficult because the majority of the department stores in town have cut their prices for the January sales, so it was tricky trying to get an accurate price comparison.

We chose the same-quality items throughout the stores and came up with these results, which show, as we all know, that it is best to shop around to find the best deal.

When is someone going to “grasp the nettle” and take issue with the travel costs getting off the rock, now that’s something that really needs to be sorted, not the price of knickers!

At 19:30 on 16/01/09 i travel to St Malo with Condor for 24hrs.
In the mornoing in France they phoned to say they had canceled my return sailing til Thursday, 5 days! It cost us over £700 to get home via Paris and London and got back on Sunday eve.
The car was sent back on its own.
Sent a letter to Condor and they said “thank you for the customer feed back” basically.
Barbaric treatment and they can do as they want while they are on there own!
HD had there problems but this lot take the mickey.
