Well done, Jersey – your services are just the best

IT’S a pleasure to be in the Island in winter and find good services out of season.

On our walks from Rozel to Corbière the public toilets are open and immaculate. In our area of Cumbria and the Lake District, most are being shut for ever.

Contrary to your correspondent’s letter of 24 January, we find the bus service very good, being able to get to St Helier and back quite easily from La Pulente. The new bus station is particularly user-friendly. If we see a bus once a week at home, it’s a surprise.

Finally, the politeness of the local drivers in traffic at junctions and roundabouts is unique and most welcome.
