SIX of the Island’s leading squash players head off to the National Squash Championships in Manchester next week – a record number.
Defending his Over-35s title will be Jersey’s director of squash Nick Taylor, while CI champion Mike Hopkins, a Commonwealth Games competitor and former world ranked professional will tackle the open.
The CI ladies’ champion Kate Cadigan is the sole female representative, while Rob Hickling – eight times a CI champion – will go with high hopes in the Over 40s section.
Steve Law, the president of the Jersey Squash Association, and John Wood, the current CI Over-45 champion will go in the veteran events.
