No favours for Jack!

jackboyle2_cropped.jpgALL eyes will be on Jersey 1st XI-turned-Southampton football star Jack Boyle on Monday as he plays his first competitive fixture on home soil since joining the Championship side.

Boyle will don the Saints’ red and white stripes to face his old Jersey team-mates at Springfield on Monday in a one-off friendly match between the two sides.

Island manager Dave Kennedy admits the game will prove to be Jersey’s toughest test yet – with a number players with first team experience expected to play for the Southampton Select – but says his men will not make it easy for Boyle.

He said: ‘Jack’s asked me who he’ll be playing against and he’s really excited about the fixture. At the same time, I think he has a few nerves – he’s desperate to do well in front of his home crowd. Jack’s a popular lad with all the squad and everyone is delighted to see him get a professional contract, but we certainly won’t be too friendly with him on the pitch!’
