Share scheme for JE staff?
Wednesday 11th February 2009, 3:00PM GMT.
AN all-employee share scheme could be introduced at Jersey Electricity.
The board of directors say that initial discussions about a potential scheme have already taken place with their major shareholders, the States of Jersey.
The proposals, revealed in the annual report and accounts for 2008, would better align the interests of employees and shareholders, say the directors.
Currently the States own 62% of the ordinary share capital of the company and the remaining 38% is held by around 300 shareholders, of which institutional investor Utilico Ltd owns just over 20%.
