mono-sup00623368_cropped.jpgA TRAVEL company in Jersey has created a new ‘pay-by-results’ method of advertising for Jersey hotels to use, in an attempt to combat fears that tourism will be affected by the economic downturn.

The method has been developed by Tuxedo Travel, who say that they believe it is essential to combat ‘periods of low visitor numbers’.

The system involves distributing information and pictures of Jersey hotels, through a database system, to people who are most likely to want to use their particular facilities – for example people with young children will only be interested in child-friendly hotels.

Hotels would only have to pay a small commission rate if a successful booking is achieved directly from the e-mail advertising.

John Donnelly, the managing director of both Tuxedo Travel and The Idea Works, has been providing hotel owners and representatives with a summary of how his company can assist the Jersey tourism industry as a whole, as well as on an individual basis, especially during the credit crunch.
