Lord Coe to be guest at Enterprise Awards

00545394_cropped.jpgTHE seventh Jersey Enterprise Awards will take place at Fort Regent next Thursday evening.

The guest speaker at the event will be former athlete Lord Sebastian Coe, who headed the successful bid for London to host the 2012 Olympic Games.

This year’s event will take the format of a gala dinner for more than 800 guests. The awards will recognise individuals for their contribution to the community, and businesses for their performance during 2008. During his athletic career, Lord Coe set 12 world records at four distances.

Among his tally are a total of two golds and two silvers from the Olympic Games in 1980 and 1984.In total there are eight awards up for grabs at next week’s ceremony. These include the small, medium and large business awards, as well as the Guiton Ambassador of the Year Award, which goes to he person who has created the most recognition for, or brought the greatest credit to Jersey.
