Putting bins in this shelter is an outrageous idea

Monday 23rd February 2009, 2:56PM GMT.

From Peter Henwood.
FURTHER to the article in Saturday’s JEP about the shelter next to the Oyster Box in St Brelade’s Bay, I think that the idea of turning it into a bin area is outrageous and should be dropped immediately.

I work for Maison des Landes Hotel, which caters for disabled people, mostly visitors but also local folk. We go to St Brelade’s Bay probably twice each week during the season, and this area is flat and ideal for people in wheelchairs to have their picnic lunch or sit in the shade and just watch the world go by. To turn it into a bin area is unthinkable.

The article says that Deputy Sean Power is annoyed about this, and I am sure that others will feel likewise.
