A bold new approach to sales

ELECTRONICS shop Fortuna has opened a new franchise inside de Gruchy’s department store.
Fortuna @ de Gruchy’s will be the Island’s first fully-interactive showroom in Jersey, with continual demonstrations being carried out on items such as washing machines, cookers and microwaves.
The shop, which is based in the area previously occupied by Ottakers bookshop, employs five staff and is being managed by John de Gruchy, who has been in the industry for 40 years and previously ran John de Gruchy’s Camera Corner.
The chief executive of the Fortuna group, John Dingle, said that the company had been planning the new shop’s opening for the past six months and had put in new lighting and floors. The store opened its doors for the first time on Saturday 14 February, but had its official opening a week later.
