Stop wasting my money! These people need their heads banging together
Tuesday 24th February 2009, 2:58PM GMT.
From Peter Titterington.
I CANNOT hold out any longer — I have to write. I shall try very hard to compose this letter without profanities, as I am furious at the moment.
We need a new incinerator, and our politicians have ordered one. We have been warned that delaying this order will have severe cost implications. Yet now, thanks to one of the new batch of green ‘poo in a composting toilet’ politicians, who was voted in by maybe 1% of the Island’s population and wants to make a name for himself, the whole issue is to be debated again.
How blind are these fools? We have waste, and it can produce energy, so use it. The global need for recycling has stalled, and the way forward is energy from waste. I guarantee that 20 years from now the owners of the landfills will be digging up their waste and selling it to energy-from-waste companies for huge profits.
We really need someone to bang some heads together. This is my money they are wasting when it goes millions over budget due to indecision.
Newlynn,
Rue du Creux Baillot,
St Ouen.

KIT 4 CLUBS
Win a share of £10,000
2012 is the year of the London Olympics and to celebrate this great event the Jersey Evening Post, in association with sponsors Ogier is giving all sporting clubs a chance to win a share of £10,000.
Perhaps it could be relocated to St Ouen as no-one who lives there seems to mind or do they?

This all boils down to people not using their votes and allowing fools to get in. As Frank Walker said soon before retiring, if you do not vote you get the Government you deserve. And if the reports about today’s debate fiasco are true, (sickness and lost notes) then you can see why many people are totally disillusioned with Jersey Politics and these so called “new voices of the people”.
