Bowlers share second after another good day

00626315_cropped.jpgJERSEY’S bowlers had another good day at the European Championships being played in Paphos, Cyprus, yesterday.

Despite slipping down the European Team Championship table to joint-second, Jersey have the satisfaction of leading fourth-placed Guernsey by ten points. Jersey trail England by a massive 95 shots on shots-difference with England and Jersey six points behind tournament leaders Scotland.

Gaynor Thomas and Cyril Renouf are currently joint seventh in the individual standings while Malcolm De Sousa is joint twelfth and Eileen Vowden joint 22nd. Chris Grimes, who is representing the European Select, is 14th.

England’s Sue Davies and Guernsey’s Lucy Beere are joint leaders of the individual section four points ahead of Thomas and Renouf at the half-way stage of the tournament.
