Jersey Netball Association president Jackie Nelson said the visitors were pleasantly surprised at the strength of Jersey’s netballers and have already agreed to return for a similar fixture next year.

The 58-strong squad were the only one of a number of invited teams who agreed to travel to Jersey on Saturday for a weekend-long schedule of matches at Fort Regent.

It was hoped that Jersey could use the fixture as preparation for their upcoming inter-insular matches, and give selectors a chance to gauge players’ abilities opposite new and varied opposition.
