Jersey Hospice Care: Two enjoy a spot of cycling
Friday 27th February 2009, 2:58PM GMT.
TWO people who go to great lengths to raise funds for charity spent six hours last Saturday cycling on the spot in Marks and Spencer.
Stuart Fell and Pauline Alderman raised over £1,250 for Jersey Hospice Care while also making their mark with shoppers as they pedalled away in the front of the store.
‘Customers and staff were amazingly supportive and very generous,’ said Mr Fell, a trust officer who has completed nine marathons,
Mrs Alderman, an accounts assistant who has completed six marathons, is a member of both Jersey Spartans and the Hash House Harriers, and regularly competes in their events.
They are both currently training for the London Marathon in April when they will be raising funds for children’s charity Variety.
In November, they will be taking to the saddle as part of the team of 65 involved in the Bedell Group Ecuador cycling challenge in aid of Jersey Hospice Care.
