Renouf, a late replacement for the injured Allan Quémard, has three games remaining on the final day of the Championship today and he will be bidding to haul in current leader Lucy Beere, from Guernsey, who has a one-point advantage.

He put himself into contention for top spot yesterday after singles wins against Guernsey’s Matt Le Ber, 10-5, 10-1, and Turkey’s Mark Pietsche, 6-4, 11-3.

Jersey’s only other outright victory yesterday came in the mixed pairs where Eileen Vowden and Malcolm De Sousa overcame the Isle of Man’s Pauline Kelly and Andy Munro 9-1, 10-2.

Jersey maintained sixth position overall in the Team Championship where they trail third-placed Guernsey by ten points. The Championship concludes today.
