Golder and Crowell made their Great Britain debuts as a development pair in January after being selected for the final two Europa Cup meets of the season in St Moritz and Cesana.

The GB development duo – who finished eighth at the British Championships in November – picked up respectable 34th and 24th placed finishes in their first ever international races. Golder – who studies sports and fitness management at the University of Chichester – has subsequently already had talks with a view to putting his course on hold and believes Crowell should follow suit.

With less than a year to go until the Olympic flame is lit in Vancouver former Victoria College pupil Golder said: ‘Kevan has been working as a quantity surveyor for about four years now but to compete at an Olympics you need to be training day in day out. The guys at Chichester have been really supportive and I am sure they will back me whatever I choose to do.’
