THE president of the European Surfing Federation has praised Jersey’s surfing facilities ahead of the Eurosurf Championships which will be held in the Island later this year.
And, according to Francis Distinguin (pictured), Jersey has historically been instrumental in shaping the European surfing culture. Distinguin was in the Island to check out what Jersey has to offer ahead of the competition in September, and he said he was happy with all of the arrangements and facilities that the Jersey Surfboard Club had organised ahead of the event.
His trip also coincided with the opening of an exhibition to mark the 50th anniversary of the Surfboard Club, and he was quick to point out the historical significance of Jersey’s surfing culture.
