Reserve your scorn for the real culprits, the States

From Phil Perchard.
I CAN’T believe some of the unfavourable comments that have been made in relation to Deputy Daniel Wimberley’s attempt to overturn the incinerator decision.

This is grossly unfair. It is the States Assembly and not Deputy Wimberley who should be the subject of public scorn.

The States Assembly had previously agreed to spend £106 million on a new incinerator. Deputy Wimberley has, I believe, shown conclusively that £35 million would have given Jersey a much better waste management scheme.

In other words, our States have overspent in excess of £60 million on an inferior scheme.

Now tell me again who are the real culprits here.
