Cann jets in for Gilson Cup

ISLAND badminton star Elizabeth Cann will make a surprise showing at today’s Gilson Cup against Guernsey.

Fresh from the All England Open, Cann flew into Jersey late yesterday especially for the competition in which Jersey are hoping to claim their sixth successive victory. It is hoped her presence in the squad, which has been kept secret until now, will help counteract Guernsey’s addition of former England international Ian Sullivan who has recently moved to the Island.

Cann will partner former international Mark Constable in the mixed doubles and former Nottinghamshire No 1 Kerry Coombs-Goodfellow in the ladies doubles.
