Hundreds come to show their love for Zannah
Saturday 7th March 2009, 9:58AM GMT.
A GREAT surge of love and a blaze of spring colour filled St Mary and St Peter’s Church yesterday at the celebration to mark the life of Zannah Pemberton.
There was standing room only at the funeral of 23-year-old Zannah, the daughter of Christine and Andy Pemberton, who died on Wednesday 25 February, two and a half years after sustaining a serious head injury in a rollerblading accident.
Among the many friends present were those who had travelled from Australia and America to be at the service, and a group of her former fellow students from Nottingham University. The atmosphere created in the church by the displays of daffodils and jonquils, and the giant screens showing so many happy photographs of Zannah’s life set the tone for a service which was all about the joy, laughter and inspiration she represented to so many people.
The poignant service, led by Monsignor Nicholas France, was deeply personalised by Zannah’s brothers Richard and Alex and sister Gina giving their individual tributes to a sister of whom they were so very proud.
