colour-00638078_cropped.jpgFORMER St Peter Football Club manager Jon Trigg is to apply for the soon to be vacant Island manager’s position.

Meanwhile four current managers have ruled themselves out of contention when Dave Kennedy steps down at the end of the season, while Trinity boss Joe Morley, who was an unsuccessful candidate the last time the position was advertised, is undecided. Those who have ruled themselves out are Pat Brennan (Jersey Scottish), Ian Horswell (Grouville), Bob Kearsey (First Tower) and Ken Addison (St Paul’s ladies).

Former Sunderland professional Trigg has been out of the game for two seasons after helping guide St Peter to their last Coca-Cola Combination Division I [now Premiership] title. The 37-year-old has worked previously in the Island set up as coach under Dave Matthews when the pair took Jersey to the Island Games bronze position with a very young squad in Guernsey in 2003.
