Shining example for Red Nose Day
Tuesday 10th March 2009, 2:58PM GMT.
ONE of Jersey’s most famous landmarks was transformed last night in aid of Comic Relief.
Mont Orgueil will be bathed in red light all week to support Red Nose Day’s Paint the Town Red campaign. Other sites that have joined in the six-week campaign include the London Eye, the National Library in Wales, the Manchester Wheel, the Glasgow Armadillo and Norwich Cathedral.
Jersey Heritage has teamed up with Delta Production Services and Transport and Technical Services to make the event happen. Heritage’s Helen Gray said that as a local charity they were proud to support Comic Relief and all the work they did in the UK and Africa.
She said that Heritage were contacted directly by Comic Relief organisers to see if they wanted to be part of the national campaign to launch Red Nose Day, which is this Friday.
