Fire breaks out at St Lawrence farm
Saturday 14th March 2009, 9:59AM GMT.
EIGHTEEN firefighters tackled a blaze in St Lawrence this morning after an agricultural shed went up in flames.
The fire in Rue de l’Eglise broke out just before 5 am and took around an hour for the firefighters to bring under control. No one was hurt and it is understood that the shed, which contained timber, was part of a farm.
Three fire engines were sent to the scene and fire fighters were still there at 7.30 am this morning to keep an eye on the shed, which is around 20 metres by 30 metres in size. Although it is not yet known how the fire started, a spokesman said that a full investigation will be carried out later today.
