A modern example of courtesy

RECENTLY I was taking the No 9 bus home at 17.20 and, as usual, it was a very busy bus.
By the time my end of the queue entered the bus, there were only a couple of seats left at the back and quite a few people were standing.
It was heartening to see and hear so many youngsters stand and offer their seats to the women and more senior passengers (which, incidentally, did not include me) who did not have a seat.
I do not know from which schools or colleges these youngsters were from, but with all the bad press youngsters receive these days, it would be good to see this example of manners and courtesy, which most people probably believe no longer exists, recorded.

Once I was on the number 9 bus and a child of no more than 9 or 10 was screaming obsenities at everyone on the bus – when the bus driver told him to get off the bus he spat in his face… there are always problem children and there are always children that are polite however the latter are becomming fewer and fewer as the years go on.
what narks me off about the number 8 and 9 services are that people get on this bus to go to first tower/beaumont (even though they have 4 other services they can use to get there and they have busses every 20 minutes till 11pm). This means that people going to St Ouen sometimes don’t have a chance to get on the bus home after work(bear in mind the last busses for St Ouen are at 5.40 and 5.50) and are forced to get a taxi!

I applaud the gentleman for sending this letter in. Yes we do have problem youngsters no more than problem adults, but the majority of kids these days are polite and well mannered.
Lulu your comment above about people who live in first tower getting the number 9 bus, I understand your concerns but is there a rule or law stopping people getting on the number 9? It seems to me you need to get there a bit earlier if you want to get a place on the number 9 – this im sure will agree is the only rule which applies to buses.
