The price reduction that put up my phone bill

AIRTEL-VODAFONE have changed the way they charge for roaming.

Airtel have the following shown on their website: ‘Airtel-Vodafone are delighted to announce that we’ve slashed our roaming prices for voice’.

Fine words. It seems, however, on my January account alone, the changes have increased my roaming charges by nearly £17. This evidently is because I make and receive short calls. Previously in the UK, it cost me 15p to receive a call of up to one minute long, as opposed to this now costing 60p minimum.

To make a one-minute call in the UK used to cost me 35p and now this cost is 70p. Please beware of these charges if you have a mobile phone from Airtel-Vodafone and you regularly visit the continent or the UK.

• A SPOKESMAN for Airtel-Vodafone said that a new Vodafone Passport roaming package had been introduced which allowed customers to have home tariffs abroad. The connection fee for all calls remains the same, however, which is why longer calls represent better value.
