CHANNEL Islands business support company Comsure, which specialises in compliance, consulting and training, is sponsoring the St Helier Yacht Club’s spring coastal series.

The series, which was previously sponsored by Lloyds TSB, will now be called the Comsure Coastal Series.
The races, scheduled from March to June, will take place on Saturdays and will generally start in St Aubin’s Bay.

The fleet will sail along the coast of Jersey towards either Corbière or Gorey, or out towards Les Minquiers, depending on the weather and sea conditions.

The races are self-timed and will always end at the finishing line off La Collette Basin. Ian Jones, the managing director of Comsure Consulting, said: ‘We are inviting people who have not sailed before to take part in the races and learn to sail on a Beneteau First 31.7, which is around ten meters in length.
