Over 70 supporters are also due to travel for the weekend long competition where Jersey’s Open A, Open B, U19, U14, U12 and over 35s will each be hoping to get one up on the Sarnians to help Jersey take the series.

For the last six years Jersey has dominated the annual tie, with all but one of the teams last year recording a victory. And after the success of the games against Cheshire, and with the Jersey Open still fresh in their minds, self belief will be strong in the minds of the Jersey teams.

Coach Linda Andrews says the Jersey teams have the best squads she had seen in a long time: ‘I have coached four squads for this year’s inter-insular, and they are the best I have had for quite a while.’
