Netballers get close to perfection
Monday 23rd March 2009, 3:00PM GMT.
JERSEY’S netballers once again reigned supreme against Guernsey, winning all but one of their inter-insular matches away over the weekend.
And it was not just the temporary tattoos that made an impression, as Jersey’s supporters commanded the stands while the players took control on court.
In the weekend’s main match, Jersey’s Open A dominated the game to finish worthy winners in a match that finished 43-33.
Another highlight of the weekend at Beau Sejour was the U16s match where Jersey pulled off a 39-36 win despite being six goals down going in to the final quarter.
In the weekend’s other games the U12s won 20-15, U14s won 33-17, U19s won 44-28, Open B won 52-34, and the over 35s, who found themselves without key players Jackie Norman and Maureen Cox through injury at the last minute, lost 47-19.
