DSC_1134VICTORIA College and Jersey College for Girls prep schools once again finished in top position in their respective races of the St Ouen’s Manor Primary School Cross Country event.

In the boys’ race, 25 starting runners set off but a battle at the front between St Michaels, VCP, La Moye, and De La Salle soon developed with St Michaels edging in front on the final bend.

They managed to maintain their lead until the last runner when they were overtaken in the final stages and beaten to the finish by VCP’s Max Le Feuvre in a time of 17 minutes 20 seconds. Jason Stokes of La Moye came in second in a time of 17.55.

In the girls’ race, JCG’s Alice Bain set a fast pace for the 26 starters, and the team managed to maintain their lead until the last change over when St Mary’s Anya Le Monnier pulled ahead.

But JCG’s Gemma Gothard stayed hot on her trail and, following a battle around the course, she got her team home first in a time of 19.16. St Mary finished second in a time of 19.34.
