Let’s have a lottery in summer

CAN we have a Christmas lottery at the end of August?

As the summer season fast approaches we should think about giving Jersey’s top two events a boost by raising a few pounds to offset their expenses.

The Battle of Flowers and the Battle of Britain provide locals and tourists with wonderful displays each year and a donation from lottery profits would surely help. Tickets could clearly advertise that profits in Jersey would be supporting these events.

Locals and visitors alike might make it one of the biggest prizes ever. Guernsey would share their profits as they wish.

Can we have one of those every week? Most I know are desperate to win some big cash to get off this treadmill to no where we have over here now. This would be good for moral as at least 52 families per year would be elevated out of treading water into a position of hope for a better life.
