Racer tops timesheets at pre-season testing
Thursday 26th March 2009, 2:58PM GMT.
JERSEY-BORN racing driver James Walker has topped the timesheets on both days of the penultimate pre-season test for the World Series by Renault drivers’ championship.
Walker, who was recently signed by P1 Motorsport, finished third overall on day one of testing in Valencia earlier this month which will set him in good stead for the final testing next week at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona.
On day one in Valencia, Walker set the fastest time of the morning with a 1 minute 22.8 second lap after the P1 team bolted a new set of rubber onto the car.
The plan for the afternoon was to conserve tyres and run through the test plan, and even on old tyres Walker achieved P2 or P3 for much of the session.
