Scam suspect ejected from tennis tournament
Thursday 26th March 2009, 2:56PM GMT.
A MAN suspected of being part of a betting scam was yesterday ejected from the Caversham International tennis tournament at Les Ormes.
Officials were alerted to the man after a player spotted him acting suspiciously and relaying the latest scores from matches via his mobile phone.
He was subsequently asked to leave and complied without resistance.
Tournament referee Carl Baldwin confirmed that the man, who was photographed at the scene, will now be reported to the Association of Tennis Professionals.
