Aurigny plane in emergency landing
Friday 27th March 2009, 2:59PM GMT.
AN Aurigny plane had to make an emergency landing after a luggage hatch fell off shortly after take-off from Jersey.
The Trislander, with 15 people on board, returned to the Airport and made a safe touchdown.
No one was hurt, no luggage was lost and the hatch did not come into contact with the aircraft propellers as it fell into the sea during the incident on Tuesday morning.
The plane was on its way to Guernsey at about 8 am when the hatch came loose and fell off. Investigations are being carried out by both the airline and the Island’s new director of Civil Aviation, Fergus Woods.
