High-scoring in prospect as Tring battle to survive

DSC_0008WITH neither of their full-time professional rugby New Zealanders fit enough to play and with centre Ashley Maggs also out injured, tomorrow’s home game against a Tring side fighting against relegation will be another testing London I game for third-placed Jersey RFC.

Of the three injuries, hooker Nathan Kemp’s is the most serious. Having broken his arm 13 weeks ago, it could be another month before he can return to training and already he must be doubtful for the Siam Cup.

Mercurial centre Sam Tuia and Maggs could return next week but if tomorrow’s side destroys Tring’s suspect defence then neither is assured of a place in the squad away to Hertford.

‘But that’s what you’d expect at this stage of the season,’ JRFC head coach Ben Harvey (pictured) said of the injuries and his side’s fitness levels. ‘Ask any coach at this time of the year, and they’d all say the same.
