Convent crowned champions

CONVENT A are the unbeaten champions of the Deutsche Bank Winter Netball League after winning their final match of the season against St Lawrence C at Les Quennevais last night.

In a match that finished 55-23, the champions dominated the game throughout despite starting with only six players, and once at full strength proved why they have remained unbeaten in all 18 games this season.

Convent’s strength in all areas is undeniable, but at last night’s match it was the attack who really got the chance to shine, linking seamless plays through the hard-working St Lawrence defensive duo of Ella Martyn and Imogen Pickering.

Island shooter and Convent captain Laura Belhomme finished an impressive season in style, taking goal upon goal calmly to pull away throughout the match supported well by goal attack Lynsey Pitman.
