EU health insurance

WHAT do Jersey, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland have in common? They are not members of the EU, but which one is the odd one out?

Yes, you’ve guessed it. It’s Jersey because it’s the only one that does not have a health agreement with all other members of the EU.

For all EU members there is a European health insurance card for when you travel in Europe, which includes the above countries that are not members of the EU, so if you fall ill you can access that country’s state-provided medical treatment. So why not Jersey?

If Jersey was included not only would it have an agreement with the UK, but also with the rest of Europe.
