Fox Marine’s power play
Wednesday 1st April 2009, 3:00PM BST.
A TEAM from Jersey will make their power-boating debut in this year’s Honda Formula 4-Stroke Powerboat Race Series which starts in Pwllheli, North Wales, next month.
At the helm on 9 May will be Martin Colligan as driver and Guidon Du Val as navigator – who are both engineers at local marine services company Fox Marine who are spearheading the entry.
It could be the first step in bringing the race series to Jersey next year as Fox Marine co-owner Liam McDermott told the JEP he has ‘put the right people in touch with each other’ with a view to the series coming to Jersey.
The Team Fox boat, which has been built at the factory of custom powerboat builders Cougar, only arrived in the Island last week and is still without a main sponsor, however McDermott is confident the team will be out on the water in no time.
