MH254JERSEY’S under-18 footballers will be hoping to be the first home winners of the Junior Muratti in six years tomorrow afternoon.

Springfield hosts the fixture and long-standing Junior Island coach Dave Walsh believes his latest group of players are good enough to retain the silverware, won following a 3-2 success in Guernsey last year.

Walsh said: ‘I’m happy with our squad. They’ve improved as a unit as the season has gone on and I hope that continues against Guernsey. The squad is good – they’ve worked well and this week we’re been working with them on the shape of the team.’

‘We know Guernsey will be organised and that they have a couple of dangerous players. However, we’ll concentrate on what we want to do and hopefully everyone will be relaxed and on their games.’
