Campaign brings in the bookings

R0013694JERSEY hotels say they are beginning to see an increase in bookings for the first time since the start of the year.

An injection of £500,000 of taxpayers’ money and £50,000 from the Jersey Hospitality Association has allowed the Jersey Tourism advertising campaign to be extended.

More television and national press adverts have been running and new billboards are due to go up in the south of England.

That, coupled with packages and deals offered by individual hotels, is helping to turn inquiries into bookings, although some hoteliers are still finding it a tough market.

• Picture: Jersey has plenty to offer, including walks along its spectacular north coast.

It shouldnt be that hard to fill the beds, there is only about a third left that there was 10 years ago, the rest are all apartments now?
Is Jeresy still against the bucket and spade brigade or is anyones money welcome in this time of shortage?

I have been visiting Jersey for the last 12 years, only because i have family living there, I personally would not recomend Jersey to my friends, as it is the most expensive place to visit. the accomadation is very expensive and very basic for the money.
I feel once you are on the Island its a case of being ripped off money wise.
Lunch evening meals are a ripp off.
I used to like Jersey, it looked lovely from the plane, once you’re landed, thats it.
