Hotel evacuated after midnight fire
Tuesday 14th April 2009, 2:58PM BST.
POLICE are investigating the cause of a fire at a town hotel over the Easter weekend.
Guests had to be moved from the Hotel Revere in Kensington Place just after midnight on Saturday after the fire started in a room on the ground floor.
Two fire engines went to the scene and found smoke billowing from the hotel room window, but the building had already been evacuated and quests and staff were assembled in the road outside.
Two firefighters went into the building using breathing apparatus and a hose reel and put the fire out. No one was injured and afterwards the guests were allowed back inside the hotel.

This un elected PM is very brave threatening small countries which cannot ‘bite back’.
What a shame he feels unable to flex his muscles against the North Koreas, Irans & Syrias of this world.
This is where the more pressing problems lie – finance will become insignificant if these problems aren’t dealt with soon.

My friend and I shared room 50 and my husband and her son shared room 81 that night but we new nothing about the fire and were not allerted in any way. I find this quite worrying as the first we knew was through my daughter who lives and works in Jersey and her friends asked if we were OK.
