Aland of opportunity for golfers
Thursday 16th April 2009, 3:00PM BST.
JERSEY have named the golf team who will be playing in the Island Games in Aland this summer.
The squad includes two plus handicap players and makes them among the favourites to take home medals from the 13th meeting of the Games.
Gavin O’Neill (31), who plays off +2, Christy McLaughlin (33), who plays off +1 and Andy Clarke (30) and Sam Crenan (17), who both play off 1, will represent Jersey.
All four players have a proven track record of golfing success, including O’Neill, McLaughlin and Crenan who were part of the successful Channel Islands team that beat Hampshire at L’Ancresse recently.
