‘Cracking’ finale in prospect

DSC_0008THIRD-PLACED Jersey go into their last London I game of the rugby season against Bishop’s Stortford at St Peter tomorrow seeking revenge and expecting it to be a ‘cracker of a game’.

For away from home earlier in the season, with the referee having played six minutes over the allotted time, Bishop’s Stortford won the game 18-16 with a drop goal by the home side’s canny No 10, Tom Coleman.

There was not even time for the restart and Jersey had lost a match that even the Bishop’s Stortford chairman, Perry Oliver, expected them to win.

‘Jersey out-muscled us in the pack and everyone was heading for the bar when Tom dropped the goal,’ he said. ‘We thought we would lose. That was the last thing we were expecting!’
