Marine business park on the way
Tuesday 21st April 2009, 3:00PM BST.
MARINE traders will be moving to a new site at La Collette in the summer.
The new marine traders ‘business park’ is on the site of the old port engineering harbour works, next to the Jersey Marinas boat park. One large unit will be turned into six workshops. Work has already started and is expected to take 16 weeks to complete.
Most of the traders will be moving from the former La Folie Inn site, which has been earmarked by the States for future development – although currently there are no firm plans in the public domain.
Myra Shacklady, commercial director at Jersey Harbours, said that the idea for the business park had come out of discussions with members of the marine leisure growth group, which has been formed to consult people with an interest in the Harbour.
