TWO Jersey firms have this week announced job opportunities for local students and graduates.

Intellectual Property specialist CPA Global has set up a two-year ‘graduate academy’ programme.

And IT services firm iConsult is offering a university bursary scheme to encourage students to come back to Jersey after they graduate.

The chief executive of CPA Global, Peter Sewell, said: ‘We want to attract some local talent and this year we will be taking three graduates. ‘We also want to take on more interns for the summer and pre-university gap year students. We hope that if they get some experience and cut their teeth with us they will come back, which will be good for them and for us.’

iConsult, which was set up in 2005, has grown from four staff to 17 and last year expanded into the training sector. The core business provides services to small and medium-sized firms and also has a presence in Guernsey and Switzerland.

Luke Bratch (20), who is in his second year at Exeter University studying computer science, is the first to be awarded a bursary. He joined iConsult in 2006 after leaving Hautlieu School.
