Southampton FC takeover rumours denied
Tuesday 28th April 2009, 2:58PM BST.
MULTI-millionaire businessman Tom Scott has dismissed rumours linking him to a takeover of Southampton Football Club.
The name of the former chairman of CI Traders was linked over the weekend with speculation that he was planning to buy the stricken Nationwide Championship club.
Saints are desperately in need of a saviour as the club is already in administration and a defeat on Saturday saw them relegated.
But Mr Scott has completely dismissed the rumours, reported in a variety of UK media over the weekend. ‘It is absolute rubbish. There is no truth in it at all,’ he told the JEP.
