Wanderers U18s keen to end wait for Upton
Friday 1st May 2009, 2:59PM BST.
JERSEY Wanderers bid for a clean sweep of the Channel Islands under-18 silverware tomorrow with a Junior Upton Portsmouth Trophy match against Northerners in Guernsey.
Wanderers await their first victory in the competition having lost in the past two years.
Team manager Daryn Noble said: ‘I’m confident it is going to be our year this time. We’ve lost the last two Upton matches and with more than half of last year’s squad still with us they are itching for revenge tomorrow.
‘I’m confident because the squad has had a phenomenal season; we will look to play our usual passing game and if we can play at the top of our form we can made it a fourth trophy this season.’
