Jersey Rugby Club have won the Siam Cup, beating Guernsey by 34 points to six.

Leading 8-6 at half-time, the home side increased the pressure in the second half to take a commanding lead, much to the delight of Jersey fans in the large crowd at St Peter.

The Jersey team, who have enjoyed success in London One Division this season, last won the Siam Cup – the second-oldest trophy in the world – in 2006.

Jersey also dominated the Academy fixtures, losing only one of the 11 categories.

    Well done lads.

I loved the Jersey Number 19. Completely annilhated one of the Guernsey boys in a crunching tackle, then when I thought he was walking over to help him back up he snarled “and stay down”.

Pure class. Wish I still played.

Fantastic! We’ve had to go a couple of years without the Siam Cup, so it’s wonderful to have it back in the Island where it belongs! Many congratulations to the Jersey side.

When done Jersey first the Murrati Vase & now the Siam Cup. Our next entralling encounter with the mighty Guernsey will be a tiddley wink championship for the China Thimble – go on the Beans – sport at it’s very highest pinnacle.

Flattering result. Not a very good game. The jersey crowd? They weren’t exactly raising the roof. The Guernsey contingent were much more vocal. Glad we won, but this match was not a classic.
