Muratti Vase stays in Jersey
Sunday 3rd May 2009, 3:52PM BST.
Jersey beat Guernsey by a goal to nil on Sunday to win the football Muratti vase for the fourth consecutive year
Captain Stuart André put them ahead in the first ten minutes of the game, and despite some good chances for the home side, especially in the second half, Jersey held on to their lead. André was later declared man of the match.
As well as being the fourth consecutive win for Jersey – the last two finals having been won on penalties – it was the third for team manager Dave Kennedy, who is retiring from the post.

Who gives a damn. Inconsequential kickaround with no merit in the world of even amateur sport.

Simon, bless you for commenting. I’d also like to congratulate you for managing to be abusive in reference to a long standing tradition which gives a lot of pleasure to those who enjoy participating in, or watching, it.
Just a liitle point; “who gives a damn” is a question, so needs a question mark. But well done for trying.

Oh Simon what a sour comment. Congrats Jersey.
