Do you know Julie Bridgman?
Thursday 7th May 2009, 3:00PM BST.
A member of the St. Helier – Bad Wurzach Partnerschaft Committee, Jane Pearce, is trying to help a German woman to make contact with a Jersey exchange student with whom she has lost touch.
‘The lady she is looking for was Julie Bridgman who lived in Rue des Gênets, St. Brelade, and would have been a teenager in the mid 1970s,’ says Jane who thinks she might have been born in around 1955.
‘She had two sisters, one was called Susan, the other could have been called Ann. She spoke fluent German and was exchanged with a student from the town of Bad Wurzach which is now twinned with St. Helier.’
Julie married a Dutch diplomat called Robert Smit in 1983 in Bonn and it was shortly after that that they lost touch, ‘Hopefully someone in Jersey remembers the family or knows the sisters and could get in touch with either Erirmgard or myself,’ says Jane.
The German woman is called Erirmgard can be contacted by e-mail at netzerirmgard@web.de and Jane can be contacted on tel 722536.
