CAESAREAN Cycling Club’s Chris Spence, pictured, ended a two week trip to San Diego, California, with a fifth place finish in the recent Pro.1.2 Division of the San Luis Rey Road Race.
It was Spence’s best performance for a number of years in a race considered to be a higher standard than the English Premier Calendar events.
Held over a challenging 88 miles, the event is San Diego’s premier road race and attracted a full field of 85 riders including many Pro and first category riders.
This weekend Spence travels to compete in the Lincoln Grand Prix which tackles the famous cobbled Michaelgate climb a gruelling 11 times.
