THERE were two suspected cases of swine flu in Jersey over the weekend but the results of one of the cases came back negative today.

On Friday and Sunday, two Islanders suspected of having the illness were tested and their samples sent to a specialist London laboratory.

This morning, Medical Officer of Health Dr Rosemary Geller confirmed that one result had come back negative. Health are still waiting for the results of the other case.

There have been no confirmed cases of swine flu in the Island, with seven previous suspected cases testing negative last week.

Because it is one of the main news stories at the moment, that’s why. People are interested. I for one clicked into this story, as will many many others I am sure.
If you have nothing of substance to say, why are the JEP wasting column inches on your comments?

Lets face it, it is rather a ‘non-story’ to be appearing on page 2.

Two more cases being investigated, but one has been assessed as clear. Not earth shattering really when there is so much more important stuff left unreported.

This swine flu has caused rather a world-wide media frenzy. Let’s deal with it when it is actually here!
